The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Sanketika Vidya Parishad Engineering College, Visakhapatnam was established in the year 2003. The department offers one Under-Graduate programme (B.Tech-EEE) and two Post-Graduate programmes (M.Tech. in “Power Systems and Automation” from 2013 and “Control Systems” from 2023) onwards approved by AICTE and affiliated to Andhra University. The department has been actively engaged in teaching and research in diverse fields of Electrical Engineering with excellent faculty. The faculty members have strong sense of responsibility to provide the finest possible education for both graduate and undergraduate students. The academic strength of the faculty is reflected by the alumni, many of whom are in the top echelons of industry and academia both in India and abroad.

    The department has well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories to augment the coursework and enhance the research potentials. The department has a dynamic group of faculties from IITs and NITs with profound experience in academics, research and industry, dedicated in teaching-learning process and actively engaged in the cutting-edge R&D activities with broad areas of expertise like Power systems, Control systems, Power Electronics & Drives, Application of Power Electronics, Electric Vehicle & Wireless Power Transfer and Power Quality Improvement, Applications of ANN and Fuzzy Logic in Power Systems, Power System Transients, etc.

    Engineering Graduates will be able to

    1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
    2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
    3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Over the last two decades, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering curriculum and research. We have a strong undergraduate program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering; we offer M.Tech in “Power Systems and Automation” from 2013 and “Control Systems” from 2023 onwards to till date. The sanctioned student’s intakes of B.Tech-60 and M.Tech are PSA-18 & CS-30 per year. Our department maintains dynamic research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. We have state-of-the-art research facilities to support our academic programs and research. Undergraduate students are encouraged to participate in various research projects.

    Faculty members in our department have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded. The faculty also regularly reviews technical articles for journals, organizes international symposia and conferences, and serves on the editorial boards of national and international journals.

    Our department offers a science-based engineering curriculum. We aim to impart technical knowledge, promote problem-solving skills, and introduce students to new technologies through our curriculum. For students to pursue their interests, the department offers a wide range of elective courses. To introduce new scientific and technological developments, the course content is periodically updated.
