Department of Civil Engineering Established in 2006, UG program within take 60 and PG (M.Tech) with specialization Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering in take 9&9 total 18.

Present this year PG (M.Tech) with specialization Structural Engineering intake-60& Transportation Engineering in take 18.

Department of Civil Engineering aims to produce graduate engineers equipped for careers in the public and private sector encompassing areas such as Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water resources Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Concrete technology.

The faculty is well trained in all major specializations of Civil Engineering.

Spacious and well equipped State-of-the-Art laboratories and computing facilities are the mainstay of the Department.

Apart from the curriculum our departments offers Guest lecturers from distinguished University Professors and Industrial visits, Summer Internship programs in well reputed institutes and Industries.

Also our faculties are continuously attending various training programs, Workshops, conferences, and Faculty Development Programs, publishing research papers and books.

The core values of the department help the students to develop their overall personality and make them worthy to compete and work or higher studies at global level.

Our department has been conducting national and International level seminar / conferences to keep the faculty and students alongside with the latest developments in the field of technical education.

In essence, Civil Engineering may be regarded as the profession that makes the world a more agreeable place to live in.

The Department also offers consultancy services for soil and concrete testing to construction sites in and around Visakhapatnam

Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at Sanketika Vidya Prarishad Engineering College, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The Department presently offers a four-year B. Tech degree programme in Civil Engineering. The vision of the department is to provide Research-based education to the students. The faculty members are actively engaged in carrying out research activities in the areas of Structural Engineering, Geo technical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Construction Engineering, Estimation and costing Engineering, Designing and Remote Sensing Engineering. The department promotes an active industrial institute interface by participating in internships and consulting services. The department gives exposure to its students, about regular engineering curriculum as well as prepares them to face the challenges of todays corporate world, by inculcating a professional attitude in them. The Department provides excellent state of the art laboratory facilities to the students. Students are encouraged to carry out projects of Multidisciplinary nature. On placement aspect, department has done exceedingly well with students working in reputed multinationals like L&T, MEIL, NCC, NTPC and many more. The college signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with 15 MNC’s. The long term objective of the department is to contribute in the research and consultancy projects from Government as well as from other reputed companies.
